teun hocks is one of my favorite photographers and I think your style is pretty reminiscent to his, except much more optimistic, and modern. not to say you're unoriginal or anything because your work is absolutely unfounded. I'm in love with it all! very inspiring :)
Thank you so much!
To be honest I didn’t know who Teun Hocks was until you told me and I’m so glad you did. I can’t believe I didn’t know about him before! His work is incredible and so inspiring. Thank you for telling me about him.
It’s okay, don’t worry about it. Some people tell me some of my work reminds them of Magritte and I’m okay with that. When it comes to creating Art it’s hard to be original (at least nowadays) because so many artists have done the same concepts in the past. And even if someone’s work is original there are always going to be people that are going to tell you, ‘oh, your work looks like so and so.’
Either way it’s hard to get away with being original nowadays, but I rather have people compare my work to someone who is winning or someone who has won, like Teun hock and Magritte.
Thanks for the compliments and for following along! :)
I’m just experimenting with Photoshop and trying to learn what each tool does. I enjoyed editing this one. Tomorrow I have work, but I’ll try to photograph something. If I do I’ll probably post it late.
I couldn’t find my remote control so huge thanks to my friend for helping me out with this one. This was yesterdays photo, but I had a problem with my internet and was unable to upload it.
I took this last week, but I didn’t upload it because I don’t really like it. I decided to upload it because I had to work today and I didn’t have time to photograph something. I don’t want to miss another day and hopefully when I finish my 365 project I’ll look back at this photo and see how much I’ve improved.
How do you model if youre also the photographer????
I use a tripod and a remote control. When you use a remote control it will automatically focus wherever you’re standing, but you must know your limit. My remote control doesn’t work if I’m standing more than 16 ft away from my camera. I recommend a remote control! It made things easier for me and it changed my life aha! On the picture below I’m holding the remote with my right hand. It focuses, takes the picture and BOOM! you’re done!
If you don’t have a remote control manually focus it. I was going to try and explain how to do this, but I got confused myself. I’ll try to take some pictures to help explain because I’m horrible at explaining things and I don’t want to confuse anyone.
The male model in most of your pictures is that you? If so, you are very handsome.
Yeah it’s me. The majority of my pictures are self portraits, but every now and then my friends model for me.
Thanks for the compliment! :)
This was fun to shoot. I photographed it next to a car dealer and I didn’t care if people were looking. They probably thought I was crazy jumping up and down, but whatevers! I’m getting better at creating grass on Photoshop! :)
I went to the beach today and I planned on taking a different photo, but I couldn’t find a party supply store to buy balloons. I was having fun at the beach and for a while I forgot that I needed to take a photo for today so I decided to do something simple. I can’t swim so I had my friend help me out with this one. I played around with the colors and I’m kind of in love with how it looks. This photo doesn’t look/feel like my style, but it’s nice to experiment! Tomorrow I’ll go back to my conceptual ideas.
Something simple for today. It was so hot today and I wasn’t going to post, but I’m glad I went outside and took a photo.
I wish I could have half your talent. You're wonderful and it is true that I know next to nothing about professional photography but gosh, you're amazing. I'm following you because I want to see your evolution and I want to turn on my TV one of these days and see you being interviewed and recognized worldwide 'cause of your talent. I'm not expecting anything, it'll happen. I'm sure. I adore what you're doing, have I said that already? <3
Words cannot explain the feelings your wonderful message made me feel. This is by far one of the sweetest, most thoughtful message I have ever received. Thank you for the amazing compliments! I’m speechless and to be honest I got a little teary eyed while reading this.
I have the best followers in the world, it means so much that you and other people take the time to message me.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I won’t let you down! <3
I recently followed your tumblr and I'm absolutely in love! What inspires you the most? Any artists, movies, or music? :) Great style!
Thanks for following along! I appreciate it :)
I would say music inspires me the most. Sometimes I’ll be listening to a song and out of nowhere an edited image will pop in my head. Certain parts of lyrics trigger that in my brain aha it’s weird.
I rarely get inspired by movies, but when I do they are usually horror movies or anything by Tim Burton.
As for Artists I’m not going to give you a long list of famous painters/photographers from 10 or 30 years ago because honestly I don’t know anyone except Magritte. The first photographer I discovered on tumblr was Kyle Thompson and I fell in love with his work. I was a bit depressed back then and his work made me feel better and it made me want to start photographing. He is the reason why I started this 365 project. I later discovered Nicholas Scarpinato through Kyle’s work and I fell in love with his work as well. I know my style is nothing like theirs, but their work inspired me to do this and now I have my own style. I also got inspired by Ben Zank, he inspired me to learn Photoshop. Marcus MB's work inspired me to master Photoshop and to get creative with inexpensive props, like cotton balls. Last but not least, Logan Zillmer inspired me to keep my creativity alive and to not give up on my 365 project because the results are worth it. These photographers helped me create my style.
Hi! Dou you favorite music?
I actually listen to everything, except Regional Mexican music.
I don’t think I have a favorite, but I tend to listen to pop and alternative music more. I also love Folk music, Rock, Latin Pop, K-Pop, French Pop, Electronic, and some Rap here and there aha
Music plays is huge role in my photos because it inspires me to come up with some of the concepts. When I was little I wanted to be a dancer because I loved music (Still do) and I loved to dance aha then I wanted to be a choreographer and then an entertainer. I wanted to put on a show for people and dance my butt off and just entertain them, like any pop superstar. After that phase I wanted to be a DJ and then a music producer, but I never went after any of those choices. Anyway I’m getting off track, but I listen to a little bit of everything.
I was just randomly going through blogs and found yours. I really love your style of photographs! A lot!!!
Thank you! That really means a lot to me.
I’m so glad you stumbled upon my blog aha
Thanks for following along!
Your photos are so inspiring. Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks so much!
No, Thank YOU for liking them :)
I don’t know how I feel about this photo, but I’m not going to get picky. I’m going to do my best and try to improve.
I have another photo to edit right now and I’ll post it later tonight.
